Good morning/afternoon/evening, wherever you may be!

First of all, thanks for signing up to the new mailing list. It’s great to see players that are interested in receiving regular updates and I think this will be a great way for us to keep in touch with you and to give you the chance to keep in touch with us. Having that conversation with you is important!

I (Matt) have been charged with getting the community more involved with the company and to start opening the door for a dialogue with our players. This way, I can be a voice for you to make sure the company knows everyone’s feelings on our released and upcoming titles and I can also provide you with all the info coming out of the company as it’s made available.

So, with that in mind, I should probably get you up to speed with what we’re currently working on! We currently have 4 games in development:

Nyjah Huston: #SkateLife

This game was soft launched in Canada and Denmark today! (July 3rd).

The game features skating star Nyjah Huston and has the player creating awesome combos, sick grinds and some of the gnarliest tricks with simple swipe controls.

Go for the highest scores, the most exciting tricks, the... Pizza slices. If your skating game doesn't feature pizza, is it even a skating game?

More info about this game towards the end of the email!

Super Footy Universe

This is a working title, I promise.

Some of you may remember Subbuteo, the tabletop football game from the 80s and 90s.

This is the mobile equivalent of that, with 5 (per side) flickable players on the field, 2 goals, 1 ball; it equals a whole lot of fun! More to come on that soon.

Doodle Jump 2

The successor to the “Endless Jumper” which was released way back in 2009 by Lima Sky.

We’ve taken the old formula and revamped it with new controls, new perspectives and new enemies plus a gorgeous art style.

Seriously, this game looks gorgeous. I'm excited to show you more in the future.
Vikings

Based on the incredibly successful TV show of the same name on The History Channel, it will be a PVP strategy game featuring characters from the TV series, including Ragnar, Lagertha, Floki and Rollo.

I can’t say much more at the moment but this is a game that you will want to keep an eye on for sure.

As I mentioned earlier, we have a new game (Nyjah Huston: #SkateLife) which launched in Canada and Denmark last week. The game is an arcade skater with a focus on leaderboard-based competitive play between real players. Succeed in the qualifying missions for the competition and then work to pull off the best combos and the gnarliest tricks to earn the highest score possible in the alotted time.
The game is set in Venice Beach, California. Expect to see plenty of sun, sea and skateboards!
You may have spotted the 'S' there. Just like other games in the genre (such as the Tony Hawks' series), you will be required to collect the letters in-game to spell S-K-A-T-E.
As the player, you can perform a huge range of tricks (with more to come in future updates) in a variety of situations. This includes grinds, flips, grabs and even Nyjah's signature trick, the Lazer Flip.
Even though the game is based on street skating, it wouldn't feel right without adding a few Quarter Pipes and Spine Transfers for good measure.
There's plenty more to come on #SkateLife in the future, hopefully this email can satisfy you until the next update!

From next week I’ll start sending out any major changes that our dev team makes to the games.

If you'd like to get in touch in the meantime, you can respond to this email or get in touch with me at matt.schofield@hugogames.com. There's also a couple of links to our socials at the bottom of this email. I'm almost always paying attention to the socials so you'll get a response pretty quickly :)

Thanks again for joining the community mailing list, I can't wait to show you what we've got coming up in the next couple of months!

All my best,

Matt
